Mahone’s Tavern & Museum, Inc. was established to foster the preservation, restoration, and presentation of Mahone’s Tavern in order to identify and present not only the historically significant incidents which occurred at the Tavern, but also to learn of the endeavors and achievements of the people who lived there, and their importance and influence upon events in our community, our state, and our nation from 1796 until the present.

Displays and Tours

While we plan on establishing limited hours of operation in the near future, and to expand on those as we grow, we currently have an open house the first Wednesday of each month from 1 to 5 p.m.. We have created exhibits on the life of William Mahone, the Blackwater Line and the Battle of Crumplers' Bluff, with displays being brought in for scheduled events and tours.  We also provide group tours by appointment.
